Greater Hardisty
Advocates
The initial meeting of the Greater Hardisty Advocates (GHA)
was held Wednesday March 12, 2008 at Fulton Place hall. Twenty individuals from Gold Bar, Fulton
Place, and Capilano communities attended.
The immediate mandate undertaken by the GHA was to promote the three
community schools in the area plus Hardisty Junior High. Desired outcomes include increasing
enrolment to ensure long- term sustainability of the schools. Expect to see more
information on the great things that are happening in our community schools!
The community schools offer high quality education just
outside your doorstep. Your children can walk or ride their bike to school
while they build friendships with other kids in the community.
Whether it is one of the excellent pre-school or
kindergarten programs for the just starting students, the incorporation of
computer technology in the classroom at Hardisty Junior High, or one of the
other available programs there is something to match your needs.
Look for further information in subsequent editions of the
Southeast Voice and on the Capilano Community League web site. The next meeting will be held at 7 pm on
Wednesday April 30 at Capilano Hall 10810-54 St.
